List of Frequently asked questions
What if I do not receive the DVD that I have ordered for a long time?
If you do not receive a DVD/VCD that you ordered for a long time, it implies that the copies of the DVD/VCD are rented out by other Showtime Video Subscribers. In rare cases, we cannot guarantee that the movie that is highest in your order priority will be delivered to you within the stipulated period. At times, the demand for certain DVD/VCD titles, such as newly released movies, are much more than the copies of those DVDs/VCDs that is available with us. In such scenarios, the DVD/VCD that you may have ordered will take a little while more to reach you. Meanwhile, you may choose to re-order your "Queue".
The DVD/VCD that I received is different from the one that I had ordered?
If you receive a DVD/VCD that is different from that you have ordered, please call Showtime Video call centre to report the issue. Alternatively, you may email us at email@example.com. We will resolve the problem immediately.
The DVD/VCD I received does not match with the picture shown on its cover.
The chances of a DVD/VCD title, from Showtime Video Rentals, being into a different cover are negligible, as we exercise highest quality checks at the Showtime Video Distribution Centre and at Showtime Video stores. However, if you receive a DVD/VCD that does not match with the picture on its cover, then please contact us immediately and we will resolve the problem.
I received scratched/damaged discs, or the disc(s) failed to playback?
At all times before accepting a delivery please ensure that you have checked the disc for any visible physical damages. If you received scratched/damaged disc(s) that did not playback, please call Showtime Video call centre. Alternatively, you may write to us immediately by visiting the Showtime Video website's 'Contact us' page. We will pick up the faulty disc(s) from your location registered with us, as soon as possible.
Why are some titles not available?
The Showtime Video DVD/VCD library has thousands of movies across Bollywood, Hollywood and World Cinema. Despite this, demand for certain titles, may be much higher than the number of copies available. Hence the wait for these titles may be slightly longer than desired.
Does Showtime Video have DVDs/VCDs of adult content?
Yes, Showtime Video Rental service offers CBFC - certified mature content.

What should I do if I lose or break/damage the disc(s) that I rented from Showtime Video?
Please return the broken/damaged discs(s) to us. You will be required to pay the price of the disc in question. This policy, also applies if you happen to lose the disc(s) rented from Showtime Video.
Note: You will be able rent more DVD(s) only after the payment for the lost or broken/damaged disc(s) is settled. In case the broken/lost DVD/VCD is part of a set, then you are required to pay the cost of the entire set.
I am facing a problem of the "incorrect region code" or similar while attempting to playback a DVD from Showtime Video?
DVD-Video discs may be encoded with a region code intended to restrict the area of the world in which they can be played. The purpose of this system is to allow motion picture studios to control the various aspects of a release (including content, date and, in particular, price) according to the geographic region. In practice, many DVD players are or can be modified to be region-free, allowing playback of all discs. Most modern DVD-players allow a similar adjustment. Adjustment of "region code" is not possible in older DVD-players. Please refer to your DVD-player's instruction manual for information about setting the "Region Code". Alternatively, you may also contact your DVD-player's manufacturing company's service personnel for more information about this.
How are the disc(s) delivered to me and picked up from me?
Showtime Video delivers disc(s) through its central logistics service. We endeavor to send the title(s) that you order within one business day. Showtime Video organizes deliveries and pick-ups of disc(s) from its subscriber's registered location.
How do I return the disc(s) that I rented?
There are 3 ways in which you can request for a pick up.

Our Relationship Executive will pick up the movie from your doorstep and at the same time deliver the next movie! Certain discs will have a Return Period of 24/48 hours, in which case our Pick up Executives will automatically pick up the disc (when the return period elapses) from your delivery address, and at the same time deliver the next movie in your queue.
Can I return the disc(s) myself at a Showtime Video store?
Yes, you can return the disc(s) at the Showtime Video store that you are attached to.
Can I return the disc(s) that I ordered through the Showtime Video website to a Showtime Video store?
Yes, you can return the disc(s) that you ordered through the Showtime Video website at the Showtime Video store you are attached to.
Do I have to return the disc(s) at the same store from where I had ordered the disc(s)?
Yes. You will be attached to a particular Showtime Video Store, which will be intimated to you during the time of enrolment.
How can I ensure that the disc(s) come to me as fast as possible?
If you enjoy and return the disc(s) quickly to us, we can ensure that your next movie is delivered to you equally fast. If your "Queue" is updated, then the Showtime Video' service executives will ensure that your orders are serviced, promptly.
How will I know whether Showtime Video has really received the disc(s) that was collected from me by a Showtime Video service executive?
Showtime Video service agents will update your "Rental History" at the end of their disc(s) pick-up cycles. You can view this update by visiting "My Account" section at the Showtime Video website. If the Title says ‘pending for pick up’ it means that Showtime Video would have not received the disc at it’s distribution Centre. If the movie collected is seen in the "Movies I have seen’ section, then we have confirmed receipt of the disc.
How often are the disc(s) dispatched?
Showtime Video processes all customer orders within a day, after going through your order(s) list, subject to availibity of the movies.
Will the delivery be affected during public and other holidays?
Showtime Video Rental Service is available uninterrupted throughout the year, irrespective of public and other holidays.
How does the delivery cycle take place?
The "order queues" of subscribers are processed within a day of receiving the orders.
What are the various payment methods available? At the Showtime Video stores, we accept payment by cash and credit card. At the Showtime Video website, you can make payments by your credit card Is it safe to use my credit card on the Showtime Video website?
Yes, it is safe to use your credit card on the Showtime Video website. The Showtime Video website makes use of highly secure online transaction technology.
Will you rent or give away my personal information & credit card details if I register online?
We do not rent, sell or disclose any of our customers' personal information to third parties.
How do I see my Billing History?
You can view your Billing History by visiting "My Account" and clicking on ‘Plan History; section at the Showtime Video website.
Are there any late fees for renting disc(s) from Showtime Video?
There are no late fees for most of our disc(s). However, in cases of time-limited disc(s) a late-fee of Rs. 50 is levied, if the time-limited disc(s) is not returned within the time agreed for the service.
How do I upgrade/downgrade my rental plan?
Once optd for a particular plan, a member cannot cannot upgrade/downgrade or cancel his/her respective plan.
What happens if my credit card payment is declined during the payment process?
You may try using any other bank's credit card that you may possess.
Can the billing address be different from my subscription account's address?
At present, our subscription management system requires that the billing address be the same as the subscription account's address.
Can the billing date be changed?
The billing date cannot be changed as it impacts the business records of Showtime Video.
What is a "queue"?
A "queue" is a list of the title(s) you have ordered from Showtime Video. At the Showtime Video website a click on the 'Queue DVD/VCD' button under a title's picture will add the title to your queue. You can view your order queue by clicking on the 'My Queue' tab at the top of the Showtime Video website after you sign in. You can re-order the titles or remove them from your queue by clicking on the respective links, buttons (icons) that are displayed there.
Is there a limit to the number of movies that I can add to 'My Queue'?
You can queue up to 99 movies in your Queue. It is recommended to have as many titles as possible in one's order queue, so that it makes the title reservation process and the delivery schedule for a subscriber’s as easily as possible for Showtime Video.
How do I manage 'My Queue' of titles?
Sign in to the Showtime Video website and browse for the title of your choice. Then click on the 'Queue DVD/VCD' button under the picture of your desired title. The title will be added to the list in your Queue. To remove a title from the 'My Queue' list, click on the 'x' icon that appears in that title's row.
Can I track the status of the title(s) that I have ordered?
You can find out whether the ordered title(s) are dispatched to you or not from the Showtime Video website, by calling up the Showtime Video Call Center. However, the precise time of delivery cannot be indicated.
I don't remember my 'Sign In' information?
Please use the email address that you had provided while registering at the Showtime Video website. If you have forgotten your password click on 'Forgot Password' link and we will email you a new password to the email address that you had provided during registration. Note: Use a combination of letters and numerals for your password.
How do I update my account's information at the Showtime Video website?
Sign in to the Showtime Video website and click on the 'My account' link at the top of the page. Then you will be shown a page that allows you to view your account's details. Here, you can change some of your account information.
How large is the Showtime Video library and how many copies are available in the library at a given moment?

Titles in the Showtime Video stores are organised on the shelves by Language and Genre. Our stores are equipped with interactive kiosks that you may use to search through the Showtime Video library. In case you are looking for specific title(s) and are unable to locate it on the shelves or through the interactive kiosks, then you may ask the Store Manager about it.
I don't have access to the Showtime Video website, can I queue my title(s) at the Showtime Video store?
Yes, the Showtime Video Store Manager can help you queue your title(s) at the store.
How do I search for a title(s) on the Showtime Video website?
The Showtime Video website has a comprehensive 'Search' feature at the website. This is available at the Showtime Video website.
Can I rent title(s) at the Showtime Video store, directly?
How many title(s) can I rent at a time?
You can order unlimited title(s) every month during the term of your subscription plan. But the number of disc(s) that you can carry or are delivered is subject to the type of your subscription plan. The information about different types of subscription plan on offer is available in 'Membership Plans' section of the Showtime Video website, at the Showtime Video stores and at the Showtime Video Call Center.
Will the title(s) be delivered and picked-up, to and from, the address of my choice?
We deliver and pick-up, to and from, the delivery address you provide while subscribing to Showtime Video Rentals service.
Will I receive my ordered title(s) on time?
We ensure that all orders are serviced within one business day. However, in rare cases we could take a little more time than assured. For more information, please read the 'Terms and Conditions' on the Showtime Video website.
When will I get the title(s) that I order at the store or through the Showtime Video website?
You can visit the Showtime Video Store you are attached to and pick up a title that you want to, subject to its availibity. If you have ordered title(s) at the Showtime Video website, then the titles you have ordered will be delivered within one business day. Direct orders for delivery cannot be placed at Showtime Video stores however you can walk into the Showtime Video store you are attached to and pickup a title of your choice. If you have ordered title(s) at the Showtime Video website, then the titles you have ordered will be delivered within one business day. How long can I retain the title(s) I have rented in my possession?
The Showtime Video Rental service is free from late fees and due dates. However, some specific released titles that are labeled with a 'Time-Limit' sticker should be returned within 24/48 hours. This is because, the demand for latest released titles is higher compared to the rest.
How long does it take for new Releases to be available from Showtime Video?
New releases will be available from Showtime Video, as soon as Showtime Video acquires the 'Home Video Rights' to distribute them.
If I have rented multiple title(s), then do I have to return all the title(s) at the same time?
Not necessarily. Suppose, you are on a 2-disc plan, in that case you can return one disc out of the two and pick up another in return. However, latest released titles that are labeled with a 'Time-Limit' sticker should be returned within 24/48 hours. This is because, the demand for latest released titles is higher compared to the rest. This way we ensure that our members enjoy all the latest movies!
Do I have to return my movies to the same store that I picked/ordered them from?
Yes, you can return the disc(s) at the Showtime Video store that you are attached to. At the time of enrolment you will be intimated the Showtime Video Store you will be attached to.
Can I get a catalogue of titles available with Showtime Video?
The Welcome Kit that you receive upon subscription contains a select catalogue of titles. There are two very convenient ways of browsing the Showtime Video library the Showtime Video website or at interactive kiosks available at the stores.
Are the contents of the movie safe for viewing at home?
The title(s) available from Showtime Video are certified by the CBFC. If you rent titles certified by the CBFC as 'Adult', then we advise viewer discretion.

Let us know the title(s) that did not find in the Showtime Video library by writing to us. Visit the 'Contact us' page to send us your request, and we will attempt to acquire your favorite title(s), at the earliest. Alternatively, you may inform the Showtime Video Store Manager about your special request.
How do I subscribe to Showtime Video Rental service?
Fill up the subscription form available at your nearest Showtime Video store and make a payment for the subscription plan of your choice. Your subscription order will be processed immediately. At the Showtime Video stores, we accept payment by cash and credit card. Alternatively, you can subscribe online at the Showtime Video website. At the website you can make payments by your credit card.
Can I hold more than one subscription account?
As an individual you cannot hold more than one subscription account. But, other members of your household can have a subscription account per member. Note: An individual has to be above 18 years of age, to become a subscriber of Showtime Video Rental service.
How important is the 'Showtime Video Membership ID'?
The 'Showtime Video Membership ID' is a unique identification code assigned to every Showtime Video subscriber.
The 'Showtime Video Membership ID' allows a subscriber to access the special subscription-related services at Showtime Video website and at the Showtime Video stores. The 'Showtime Video Membership ID' helps a subscriber track all her Showtime Video transactions. The 'Showtime Video Membership ID' plays a vital role for Showtime Video, itself, at providing prompt customer service.
How do I know that my membership with Showtime Video is activated?
You will be sent an email confirming the above (in case you have signed up from our website). Else a sms will be sent to your mobile informing you about your activation alongwith user name and password details.
After subscribing when will I receive my first title(s)?
As soon as your subscription order process is completed, you can add title(s) to your order queue. Depending on availability of the title(s) you have ordered you will receive your first title(s) within one business day.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Your subscription is cancelled the day your opted plan expires. You donot have to do anything to cancel a plan. You can however renew a plan at Showtime Video at anytime, without paying the registration fee.
Can I become a Showtime Video subscriber, again?
Yes, you can reactivate your subscription at any time. At the Showtime Video website, use the same email address that you had provided previously while registering yourself at Showtime Video. Then, click on the 'Activate plan' button in the 'My Account' page. You will be guided through the subscription process.
At the Showtime Video store, provide your previous subscription details to the Store Manager.
Do I have to pay a registration fee on signing up?
There is a one time non refundable registration fee whilst signing up for a Showtime Video Membership. For details please visit ‘Plans’.
What are the different rental plans on offer?

Can I change my subscription plan?
Once opted for a particular plan, you cannot upgrade/downgrade or cancel your membership plan.
How do I renew my subscription?
You will be reminded about the renewal of your subscription seven days before the last day of your subscription period, by our Call Centre executives, this intimation will also be given to you on your Account page on our website. You can renew your subscription by informing the Showtime Video Call Center or you can personally renew it at the store you are attached to. Alternatively, you may renew your subscription from the 'My Account' page of the Showtime Video website.
What are the working hours of a Showtime Video store?
All Showtime Video stores across India are open from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, throughout the year, including public and general holidays. However there might be certain exceptions in case local laws prohibit us to keep the stores open on certain days and during certain hours.
Is there a difference between the renting title(s) from a Showtime Video store and the Showtime Video website?
There is no difference in principle between renting title(s) from a Showtime Video store and the Showtime Video website, except that a subscriber at the store can rent title(s) on an availability basis. At present, we offer DVDs/VCDs on a rental basis. However, there may be promotional offers on special occasions when DVDs/VCDs will be offered on sale as a combined offer with special subscription plans. What are the exchange or return policies of Showtime Video?
Once a item is bought from the Sales Section, we do not accept returns or exchanges.
